成為永續環境企業的七項策略 Seven Tips for Becoming a Sustainable Company

在美國紐約的一家企業社會(環境)責任顧問公司SDialogue於2010年1月底提出一份永續環境企業的策略報告「Top Seven Sustainability Practices: the Sun > the Parts」,指出每家企業必須思考對環境負責任的七項策略,及闡述如何綜合運用這七項策略成為永續環境的企業。

底下是簡要介紹:

Here are seven tips to improving sustainability within an organization from the report, which was developed by SDialogue, a sustainability communications firm.

1.設立環境永續的目標及評量基準

企業必須捫心自問可以創造出怎樣的永續環境價值,同時檢視哪些支出成本是反其道而行的。要思考如何讓永續環境責任的目標廣泛融入企業的其他任務目標。

1. Setting Sustainability Goals & Measuring Success

Companies should ask themselves what value sustainability can create for the organization, as well identify the costs of not evolving more sustainably. Consider aligning sustainability goals with broader corporate goals.

2.權益相關者共同投入

檢視從公司董事到顧客,有哪部分可以讓他們參與,有哪些資訊必須傳達給他們。企業可以運用新興的網路社交媒體聯結所有的權益相關者。

2. Stakeholder Engagement

Whether its customers or board members, identify who needs to be engaged and what information will move them. Social media is an emerging way to connect with stakeholders.

3. 描繪環境永續責任各項要素的關連圖

運用方格表描繪出企業要盡到環境永續責任時,有關的挑戰、要素、資源及機會等的關連 。

3. Sustainability Issues Mapping

Start with a grid identifying sustainability challenges, issues, sources and opportunities .

4.建置環境永續的經營管理系統

建置一套行動準則及稽核標的。

4. Sustainability Management Systems

Institute a set of activities and auditable performance objectives.

5.評估產品生命週期並做好相關設計

確認你的產品或服務在整個製造、銷售、使用、廢棄過程中可能對環境或社會引起的不良影響,然後決定如何將傷害降到最低。

5. Product Life Cycle Assessment & Product Design

Determine the full range of environmental and social damages that can be attributed to your products or services, then determine the least harmful ways of delivering the product or service.

6.發佈環境永續責任或企業社會責任報告

依據企業規模及社會形象,可以考慮發佈正式的環境永續責任報告。發佈網路版就好,不要印刷以節約用紙。

6. Sustainability / CSR Reporting

Depending on the size of a company and its public profile, it may make sense to develop a formal sustainability report. Go with Web versions to save paper.

7.將環境永續概念置入品牌形象

綠色(環保產品或服務)市場絕不是小眾的。如果整個企業的作為都融入環境永續概念,環境永續將可以是所有產品線的主要賣點。

如果有著積極推動環境永續作為的企業文化,將是整體產品或服務充滿環境永續做法的最佳途徑。

7. Integrating Sustainability into Your Brand

Green marketing doesn’t have to be a niche product or service. If sustainability is integrated into a company’s operations, sustainability can be the main selling point of the whole product line.

Having a corporate culture that fosters sustainability is the most constructive way of seeing sustainability permeate the product or service line.
